Too many staffing providers, not enough oversight

The baseball season is long and grueling, requiring hundreds of positions to be filled for home games that start in March and can stretch into October. Stadiums depend on talent with a wide range of skills and an aptitude for hospitality. For our client, filling roles was a numbers game. They contracted with seven staffing providers, including Bluecrew, in 2021.

As a result, they were using multiple systems and processes to post jobs, onboard and train talent, and manage invoicing. This led to inaccuracies, and their staff spent hours reviewing reports for errors.

What we did

A robust platform and mobile app from Bluecrew

Our client recognized that it had too many staffing partners and told us it wanted to cut down its roster. We conducted a discovery process to identify pain points our client faced when requesting and using temporary talent. We then developed a strategy to address their day-of-event needs through advanced technology and a high-level of post-sale support. Bluecrew remains one of three staffing partners for our client, thanks to the Bluecrew app and the caliber of our talent.

The Bluecrew platform gives clients access to more than 100,000 workers nationwide. With the Bluecrew platform, our client could post jobs 24/7 for recurring shifts over the course of the season. Jobs can be posted in about seven minutes, from a phone or laptop, and are immediately sent to qualified W-2 talent. Many jobs are filled within 24 hours in established locations.
This location qualified for an on-site team lead who served as a liaison between our account management team, client, and workers. The team lead checked in talent, ensured they met the dress code, guided them to their stations, and addressed any concerns at the stadium.
By personally checking in workers, the team lead was able to prevent people from clocking in with multiple agencies and to eliminate instances of falsified working hours. 
With a team lead, invoicing was precise and accurate. Our client liked being able to log in to the Bluecrew platform to access bills and download spreadsheets, and that the platform provided a reliable and consistent user experience.
